I am a pretty creative person. Since blogging though I find myself becoming more and more of a copycat! Who can help it? There is so much inspiration in blogland I can hardly keep up. Today when I saw a new post from Courtney at French Country Cottage here. I knew I needed to have a photo session with a chair. Now, I wish I had the old bike (that she got for a beer) but I don't have one yet. You do know I'll be looking for one though! I do however have the chair..and flowers, so I was in business.
I have done a lot of portrait photography--it is what I am good at. I found that working with a chair was quite a nice experience. It didn't complain, it stayed where I put it..everything was good. This chair is my chair at the dinner table..so she and I have a good relationship. :)
Then the wind started blowing..and it reminded me of when I was taking senior portraits once and the wind was catching the girls hair just perfectly...
So Courtney is still the queen of flowers on the chair pictures but I had fun shamelessly copying her. I also loved the effect she used of making the flowers in color and the rest B&W so I did that too (with Picmonkey) I think it looks awesome. What do you think?
So then tonight I also got inspired to copy French laundry and the beautiful images she posted today of snowballs in a blue Ball jar.
How pretty is that?
Now I sit at my computer ready for one more search for the night of beautiful inspiration, with my "props" in the window beside me.
Thanks for inspiring me, and thanks for visiting!

Very pretty pics!!! :)
You did such a wonderful copycat,I'm sure it is still unique,as no two are exactly alike. love it all.
I get so inspired by all my blogger friends too. Who can resist copying. I think it is a compliment to the creator of the original. xx
the chair, flowers, blue jars and flirty slip--just so pretty, sandy! i'm a copycatter, too:)
Great pictures!! I love the black and white picture with the flowers in color! Love the picture of the snowballs in the blue Ball jar!!! If I had any flowers that were similar, I would be copying that today!!
I love it!~ it does capture Courtneys style for sure~I love that photo you edited in Picmonkey too from the previous post.
So beautiful, you are a copycat, but a great one.
You are an amazing photographer! I've always been so thankful that you are our family photographer and can capture personalities as well as make us look good. :-) You definitely have "the gift", and are creative in so many ways.
I like what you did with this pictures, the combination of colour and black and white.

I believe it is better to succeed at imitation than to fail in originality, a twist on a quote by Rachel Ashwell. One who copies is gaining experience until they come by originality. For no one owns any thing, we all borrow something from somewhere, and what we think we have come up with has "been done" somewhere at some point in time, yes? :D Even Rachel has "borrowed" her style from French Country style. blessings, Lady.
Beautiful pictures! The flowers are lovely.

Hi Sandy: I just came over from signing at Feathered Nest Friday and saw your post, so now I'm following you and I also saw your link to your daughter's, so now I'm following her also. Both of you have very beautiful blogs. Look like you are going to be a new granny. How cute is he? I love that you are a copy cat, there are so many posts that I think why didn't I think of that, but thought I might step on someone's toes. Now I 'm glad to see that you do it too so now I'm might feel better about doing it. You certainly picked a good one to copy! And I might add you did a super job. Very pretty. I hope you will stop by for a visit at the Cottage, and I'll be catching up on your previous posts..Happy Mother's Day..Judy
Beautiful vignettes, Sandy! I don't blame you at all for "channeling" Courtney. :) Lovely job!!!

Sandy, Your shots are beautiful. I have read once that copying is the highest form of flattery. You have been most gracious in sharing who inspired you as well. I love the black and white and keeping the flowers only colored. thanks for telling us where you did this. That looks like a fun place to edit!
Take CAre.
