For the Love of Roses...

I go through phases when I obsessed with something and right now I am obsessed with my roses. I will miss them so much when the season is over.

I made a bouquet last night for the dining room table and was almost sad as I thought about the fact that soon my roses will be done, for this year anyway.

Janae said my bouquet was so pretty she thought it was fake. I am loving my Catmint hanging on my little fence too.

This morning my Mom called and suggested instead of going on our daily walk we go to Farmington Gardens because they had their roses on sale for 50% off. I was all for that! I was thrilled when they still had the rose I have been wanting ever since I saw it in the David Austin catalog. It is called "Falling in Love" and it is a traditional tea rose and will be a beautiful compliment to my old fashioned cabbage roses. I think I posted about how much I wanted it months ago.

I love this beautiful pink and the creamy inside. The shape is just divine too. Gorgeous! My husband already planted it for me. My Mom got the same rose for herself too.

I thought this was so beautiful too--but I didn't have an extra $80.00 or a spot in my garden to put it, so I had to pass. Sure think it is lovely though. I bet Janae would love it.

If you are lucky enough to still have roses (and they haven't completely cooked by now) then take time to enjoy them:) They are such a special flower.

Thanks for visiting!

Edited to say: I just realized this is my 2ooth post--wow! I guess I'm not really a newbie blogger anymore:)

Yes they are very special. Who couldn't love a rose? Love your new one and your table looks divine. I so love your crystal drops above and the little gate and window. It's all beautiful. It's so nice to surround ourselves with beauty I think. So nice too that you walk with your mum every day. So special. xxxoxxoo

I'd miss those beautiful roses too. My roses are already gone. They were here before I bought my house, and come back every year.

That bouquet is amazingly dreamy. So beautiful. When will you stop having roses? I never think if things like that here in California. I do remember taking the Halloween pictures last year and there were tons of blooms on my hibiscus. I will try to appreciate that more this year. There is nothing like your own flowers in the houses. Yours are stunning.

Sandy, your roses are gorgeous. It's too bad that the season is so short. I have a few left but not many. Reminds me to pick a bouquet tomorrow .. I really am in love with the little ruffle you have your beautiful arrangement on..Happy Wednesday..Judy

Our flowers haven't done much this summer because of the heat, but last year our roses came out again in the fall once the weather became mild. Strange to see roses on one side of the yard and leaves on the ground on the other side where the trees are, yet I'm hoping they will come back again this year.

Like Janae, I thought the roses were artifical too. They are very pretty. Love the color of your new one too.
