White Table Setting

I am thinking a lot lately about Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and my favorite part of that..setting the table.  I hate the cooking part--other than to put the dishes in beautiful serving platters. Thank goodness my husband likes to cook. Anyway--got out some stuff and set the table for fun and thought I would share it. I decided that I really need to look for some beautiful old silverware because I don't have any and also some crystal water glasses.  My daughter and I have the same dishes and so it works out great for big get togethers because we can borrow each others dishes.

Of course on the holidays it will be a setting for more like 13, than 4..but it will be fun! I do have 2 leaves for this little table, but I always set up at least 2 tables. In our house entertaining is cozy..and fun!

Does your table have a leaf in it? It must if you can seat 13!

What a pretty table, I love all the crystal! When I was a young bride my mom and I both had the Yorktowne dishes from Pflatzgraff and would combine them for holidays, but my daughters do not share my taste so I'm on my own now. I have some of the white ones like yours, but I really wish they still carried them because I'd like to get more, they are so pretty. I'm looking for some pretty vintage silverware too, good luck on your search!

No kidding...setting the table IS the most fun part of it! I like to cook, but doing the cooking AND the setting up is quite the chore. I'm always glad when someone offers to bring a significant dish (provided they can cook, of course!). You are SO very lucky to have a husband who enjoys cooking!!!

Hi there, your tablescape is absolutely stunning. I love all the white china, etc. I have changed my chinaware in the last year to white but I don't entertain enough to set my table up like this. Gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris
