Handmade Card

I love doing crafty things..I used to scrapbook at least two evenings a week, but haven't done that for quite awhile now.  I never used to be a card maker, but in the last couple years I have been making a lot of cards.  Of course never one to do things the easy way I always put a lot of detail (which equals a lot of time) into my cards.  I like to only make cards for people I know will really appreciate them because I do spend so much time doing them. I also like to take a picture of the cards I make since I usually never see them again! I thought I would share the one I made today.

I made this card as a "thinking of you" card for my sweet cousin who I haven't seen in recent years, but is always in my heart. If you are reading this LaShawn...this is for you.:) We were recently "talking" via e-mail and we both agree that though the internet is awesome, it is kind of sad that the art of handwriting is disappearing. As children LaShawn and I wrote to each other often. That fact inspired me to make this card and send it to LaShawn and remind her what my handwriting looks like:) I am also sending her some hand dyed and wrinkled (by me) seam binding that I made for her daughter who is very artistic and I think will make something wonderfully creative with it.
Love this--it is the only "ribbon" I use anymore
Wanted to add a few pictures of the kids from the weekend..Oh, and has anybody ever printed their blog into a book? If so I would love any advice you have. Also a blogger friend at "The Midwest Cottage" is having her first giveaway. I know everyone loves those so I thought I would share it with you click here.

Even Bella finds homework boring!

My precious Gage hasn't been feeling well. But he is still so sweet and doesn't complain.

If I had the energy of these two all my housework and projects would be done!
Thanks for stopping by--have a great week!

I so love your card, you have given me an idea for my dear friends birthday, as we always make each others card, but never like yours. Cute kids too. What is that ribbon? xx

Oh my goodness, Sandy! I am so honored and excited to get this work of art in the mail!:) And I won't tell Ciara the ribbons are coming, but she'll be ecstatic. How much fun to look forward to- thank you! I scrapped with Ciara this weekend...we only manage to get together to do it once every 4 months or so, but when we do it's so relaxing and enjoyable. I'm working on the album of our family vacation to Bodega Bay this July.

I've always been interested in making cards... so far I've made exactly a grand total of one! LOL. You did a great job and your children are so beautiful. It's a shame we cant bottle their energy and use it as needed.

I was just thinking I ought to drag out my Cricut and do some cards... And, there you were, showing me the way.

I had my ourjourneythroughalzheimers.blogspot.com blog printed into a book. It chronicled some of my husbands (and my) trials through that awful disease. I was very pleased. I ended up having one each printed for my four children, as well. I used the print company suggested by blogspot.

They leave out comments. I was worried about those taking up tons of room. The pictures were all there and after I had the first one printed I made sure to go back into each post and remove any graphics I had used. Those seems useless in the book. Good luck.

You not only put a lot of time in each card, but you put a lot of love - that is quite evident! Beautiful card!
