Pastel Dining Chairs

I love my dining room "set".  I got it several years ago..paid $15 for the table, and $5 for each chair at Goodwill.  They weren't looking very pretty when I got them, but I saw the potential. A little paint and some appliques and it is perfect for us.

Over the last few years I have thought I want to change it up a little. I see on pinterest where some people do their chairs a different color and a white table. I like that. But about a year ago I tried that and I didn't like it, the colors were too much, so back to white they went.

Here is my new attempt. This time I went with very very light pastel colors. One chair is pink, one lavender, one blue, and one green. In photos you can hardly tell there is any color...but any real life it is noticeable.

It looks even prettier with my ruffled table cloth.

The plan is to make a ruffled slip cover for each chair seat in the color of the chair.

I think these chairs were such a deal for $5! I love cane back.

Making the covers for the chairs will be fun and I hope turns out looking "quilt like". Gives me a chance to use all the beautiful fabrics that are out there lately.

I took some pictures at night in hopes the color would show in pictures better...but it is hard to capture in photos.

I like this picture Janae took on her phone and posted on Facebook last night. Her little Bella is licking her lips looking at Wyatts dinner. This is real life--notice how Wyatt pushes the tablecloth up so he doesn't get anything on it. I have good kids! Obviously my Grand-dogs think they should be able to sit at the table too.

I can't wait to get started on the slipcovers!

Thanks for visiting!

It's so pretty. I love the shot looking toward the patio door. The best photo is the dog and the son eating, because it is so Norman Rockwell.

I can't see the colors, but the description of where you are headed sounds lovely. My camera is not very good either, and the light at this time of year makes it even more difficult to get a nice photo.

I think the chairs look perfect now I like the really pale colors much better than the bright ones I've seen on Pinterest. My Bella is so cute, she, Bentley, Lacie and Leo are looking forward to being babysat all day tomorrow. I'm sure Bella will be thrilled to be at your house for breakfast, lunch and dinner lol!

Very pretty, Sandy! Ruffled slips would be a great finishing touch for your chairs. I just made some yesterday out of a soft drop cloth for our dining chairs. Just need to make the ties now. I love your chandelier!

I just love your dining set! The ruffled tablecloth is gorgeous! I love the picture with your pom looking at what's going on at the table. I also have a pom that looks like they could be related. They are the best dogs!

I love your table. Thanks for sharing. My inlaws just gave us there set. It is almost 200 years old. It came over the Oregon trail in a covered wagon with my husbands family. So needless to say I am not allowed to paint it lol. So I just put a nice lace cover over it. I plan on putting nice covers on the seat of the chairs also. I want some of the table and chairs to show. We love our set!!

I think that's what's pretty about the colors. They are so subtle and soft. What a good idea to do different colors, but to paint them very pale. It is a little hard to see in the photos, but you can tell they are each a little different., and it's sweet that he pulls the tablecloth away as to not get it messy...

Gotta love pastels...it's fun to shake things up a bit now and then, right? I love the 'real' photo of Wyatt eating dinner. Wish my kids were that conscientious of my tablecloths!
