When you have your house for sale they always tell you to burn a nice scent. It appeals to the buyer if the house smells like fresh baked apple pie or something "homey" like that. I always strive to have my home always be as appealing as a house that is on the market.
So clutter be gone..and lovely scents please fill my house.
I was so delighted when my blogger friend Sherry from http://theshantygirl.blogspot.com/
decided to start making the most wonderful soy candles and tarts. She sells her candles and tarts here.
She has the most amazing scents! Not being from Texas I had never smelled Bluebonnet flowers before but Bluebonnets on the Prairie is one of my favorite scents! It smells so good.
These candles and scents are a real treat to my senses and in my opinion make the house more delightful.
The pumpkin pie spice scent was so appealing it inspired me to make a double layer pumpkin pie.
My kids were pretty happy about the pie!
There are several lavender scents I am just loving too--the fresh cut lavender even has buds in it!
Like an old song can bring you back to a time in your life so can a scent. I am a believer in the power of the nose!
Phoebe wanted me to mention that a cat makes a house a home. (another belief of mine)
I have been having a good time looking at everyone's Fall decorating. Please keep the ideas coming!
UPDATE: The free shipping special on the candles and tarts has been extended to Oct 14th!
Thanks for visiting!
Wow Sandy so very sweet of your to blog about your scents, I am thrilled that you love them. I am now however craving a piece of that pie, is it shippable?? LOL Hugs to you my friend! Loving your decor and that cat is just awesome!!
I love fall and burning candles with fall scents. Those candles sound great I am going to check them out. I love the clean burning soy candles too. Thanks for sharing.
oh Yes! the scent is almost everything! I start everyday diffusing pure lavender essential oil with rose geranium. I make all my own products with pure oils, no synthetics and wish I could find nice scented candles but the fake smells always get to me since I never use them I am sensitive to them. Is there any way to get a small sample of them? I could use good scented ones. Love your philosophy and agree about the cats making it home too! blessings!
I am not a big friend of fall, BUT one of the very best parts is cozy nights with candles burning!! I love all the soft side of fall pics you've shared... I am still dragging my feet, haha!! I'll check out your friends candle link too...
oh, and the dogs beg (dogs beg:-) to differ a DOG makes a house a home....
What a beautiful cat! I love your lavender arrangement. SO pretty. Love your crown too!
Sandy, your home is lovely! The scented tarts and candles look fabulous! Phoebe looks so pretty! I agree, " cat does make a house a home"! I love mine so much! Have a fabulous Fall weekend!
I"m looking forward to enjoying your "scents" today after we walk. This whole post is beautiful, and the pie looks delicious.
Sandy that was a lovely post. I think that scents make a difference in a home. Love the fall scents that we see this time of year, those homemade baked goods smell so good, I use them all year.
Phoebe is right! Looks like she does her part to make your house a home!
The candles look beautiful!
It's cold and rainy today. I have all the side lights on and a "pumpkin pie" candle is burning. The house feels so cozy. You must give us the recipe for that scrumptious looking pie! xo
Beautiful touches! I love, love lavender the smell instantly relaxes me!! your cat is sweet looking
have a great fall day~
Oh what a yummy post Sandy! I am a candle freak, I will definitely be checking out her site, thank you for sharing with us. That pumpkin pie looks sooo good!! I want some, lol. And your kitty is so cute, I could just kiss her head :) Have a wonderful weekend,
I have no sense of smell. Of the 5 senses, I guess it is the easiest to live without, but I miss it. Every once in awhile my nose will work, but only about 5 different days a year. Right now there is a beautiful rose from our garden in a vase a my husband says it smells lovely.
I would enter your beautiful home, but I would smell nothing. I think that is what makes me a horrid cook - not taste buds due to the lack of smell.
Oooooo, makes me want to go light a scented candle right now. I have no idea how bluebonnets smell either, i'm so curious...
i'm loving the lavender buds candle, your cute crown candle holder and crown canister, sandy! adorable chalkboard and china, too! and i bet phoebe's purring is just as soothing as the wonderful scents:) happy weekend!
Happy Fall to yall too! You and Janae have the BEST blogs ! Just love yall - happy weekend too oxox
Oh girl you dont know HO bad I have been waiting for cooler and colder days so I can burn some candles for coziness. You bring that feeling I have been longing for.
