A stroll thru the garden

It has been such a beautiful day! The news said tonight we made it to 82 degrees--in my opinion just hot enough to enjoy the summer weather but still cool enough to enjoy the evening.  I got weeds pulled and enjoyed the summer weather. As I walked around the garden I decided to take some pictures to share.

David Austin Eden Rose
My Eden rose is putting on a show! It is blooming like crazy which makes me happy. I wasn't even sure it would bloom this year since it just came to me a few months ago as a bare root rose. I adore this rose though I think it ties as my favorite rose with my Wildeve. I really love my Wildrose rose I got last year.

David Austin Wildeve Rose

I cannot get enough of my petunias. I love them.

The Star Jasmine is blooming--though the fragrance is not as strong as last year yet. It is so nice having it right next to the back door.

All the flowers are just at their prime it seems

Some of my favorite flowers I think are actually weeds.

I love the goosenecks I transplanted from my Mothers garden..though my Dad says they are a weed.

I love to grow flowers..but my husband prefers vegetables. Even though he works a lot of long hours he keeps up this small garden on the side of the house.

I can't wait for some ripe pears!

Wyatt gets a little excerise while I am out working in the gardens.

The grass is not green like I want it to be. I have been watering..I think I need to fertilize more.

Gage got a haircut today from my husband...Jerry sometimes gets carried away with haircuts. Now I need sunscreen for Gage's head!

A fully bloomed Wildeve rose looks gorgeous in the house.

It is suppose to be beautiful all week. I hope everyone is able to enjoy and it is not too hot where you are. Fez has the right idea about what to do on a hot summer afternoon...

Thanks for visiting!

Family Weekend

This has been a fun family weekend. Yesterday my husband and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. Hard to believe it has been that long. Time flies.

I know it is a lot warmer in other areas but here in Oregon it is 90 degrees. That is really warm for here! So what have I been doing? Sitting in my cool house and relaxing. We don't have air conditioning (there is only really a few days a year you need it in Oregon!) but the house is well insulated and I close everything up, turn on some fans and it is pretty comfortable.

I spent a little time changing my blog from a 3 column to a 2 column. I noticed almost all my favorite blogs were that set up and now I can make my horizontal photos bigger. I like it! How does it look? The pictures aren't too big are they?

We had a BBQ this weekend at Jerry's brother Shane's house. Their cat has the prettiest eyes! Janae's eyes aren't bad either:)

This picture of my husband, Grandma, and his brother Scott is a new favorite of mine. How precious is that? Grandma looks adorable! She is so spunky.

Gage had a good time visiting with Grandma Suzy.

I truly love my 4 legged Grandbabies--but sure would be fun to have one with 2 legs. Scott (Jerry's brother) is dating a girl with a young son...he is so adorable! I could play with him all day. What a doll baby.

Well, time to go start another gallon of sun tea. I am enjoying this lazy weekend!

I'll get my creative vibe back when it cools off:)

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Fence Project

My Mom had the cutest little fence sitting in her backyard..not being loved. Janae spotted it first, but I called it first that I wanted it. (sorry Janae) :)

It started out looking pretty worn out and I brightened it up.

I wrote "Sit a spell" on it, which all of my kids (including Janae) say they don't know what that means.

I love the little birds on top!

I think my front deck is looking so pretty--the flowers are blooming well now that summer seems to finally be here!

It is the perfect weather for sun tea--my favorite!

I finally got this little table painted white.

Yesterday Janae was here with all her animals. It was such a fun family day. Our house looked like a pet day care center. Here is Billie sitting in the window. White Persians go so well with my decorating:)

Janae and I found a cute cat scratching post at Goodwill. The kittens love it! They are sleeping in it now as I write this. Janae of course got some darling photos, being the pet photographer that she is.

My first Eden rose has bloomed! I am so excited. I don't know if I could like a rose better than my David Austin Wildeve..but this Eden rose looks lovely! I have wanted this rose for years!

It has a little rain damage--but I think rose time of year is here in Oregon now:)

Got these little wings from the etsy shop of Rosemary. She made them with clay and they were only a few dollars with free shipping--got these for me and one for Janae too. For those of you who know Rosemary you know these have to be oozing with creative energy. So sweet!

Hope your fourth was safe and fun! Our windows felt like they were going to break because of the fireworks--but all is well now!

Thanks for visiting!

Pink Ladybug

My Mother found me the cutest little planter at a garage sale last week.

I decided to leave it all shabby chippy..but I did do a little makeover on the ladybug. Chantel tells me she thinks it is a beetle but I am sticking to it is a ladybug. In my fantasy world ladybugs are pink,

I keep believing that summer will show up here soon so I bought some heat tolerant flowers for it. I think they are so pretty for $3 at Fred Meyers.

My big petunia basket broke its nail yesterday and took a fall. It survived and I got a big heavy duty hook for it now. I look at this time 100 times a day. I love it! So nice of Eileen to get this for me. It just keeps growing and growing....

The kittens are still keeping us entertained!

They're such a joy to the whole family!

I hope everyone has a beautiful fun filled fourth!  We plan to spend time together as a family and cook hotdogs and smores.

We re going to try not to eat too much like Chantel's hamster (Walter) often does!

Wishing you a garden full of pink ladybugs!

Enjoy your day!

Take time to play

I have to say that one thing these kittens are teaching me is to take time to play! They play with each other, they play with a piece of lace or a dangling bow..they play hard and then they fall asleep wherever they are. Wouldn't that be awesome?!

I often find them sitting at my chair at the dining table. They think that hiding is a really fun too.

Gage's wheelchair is a favorite place to play.

There are all kinds of fun ways to play in a wheelchair. Places to hide and jump out at each other.

When you get tired you can take a break and read a magazine. Or maybe read about when you were pet of the week in the newspaper!

Or when Gage is in the bath tub--it is great fun to sit on the edge and see how close to the water you can get.

Shortly after this picture was taken the other kitten, Fez, fell in. Gage thought it was funny.

So it was a nice weekend. Doing yardwork, housework, projects...and remembering to take time to play!
