Hamster Love

For about a week or so now we have had 2 new additions to our home...Chantel and Wyatt both spent some of their Christmas money to buy hamsters. They have been so much fun..I have been really surprised at how much personality they have and how much they have entertained us!

Meet Hershey and Walter.

They spend their evening running around in their hamster balls...with me hoping I won't break my neck from tripping on them.:) I tell you..if I only had a small percentage of the energy of a hamster all my projects would be done!

Walter has his pink cage to match Chantels room and Hershey has a blue cage in Wyatt's room
They are both boys and according to Petsmart--Walter is a couple weeks older than Hershey. They are long haired hamsters and will get about 6 inches long.

Hershey loves to stuff his cheeks with sesame seeds and move them up to the top part of his cage

Hershey looks like he is saying his prayers but actually he is cleaning himself

I have to admit I think they are kind of cute...and I love them because the kids delight in them so much. They have plans to take them to Petco for the hamster races in September. They are in training right now-LOL

Thanks for visiting!

Oh, aren't they adorable! Having raised three boys, hamsters had always been a part of our family.
Over Christmas, I was hamster sitting a little fella for one of my grandsons and it was so much fun. Brought back a lot of memories.

Blessings,
Sandi

Very cute! I didn't know they could get so big! My girls have RATS! I didn't think I would like them but they do have a lot of personality and are fun to hold and play with. The rats LOVE my girls! They always want to go to them, even though my husband and I hold them, too. We have girl rats, the boys were too stinky! It's so fun how the kids love them so much, isn't it?
I'm following your new linky tool!

Aww...my Granddaughter really wants one. I've read that they only live a couple of years?? Maybe after they move into their home in March. CUTE!

They are little cuties, aren't they :)

I'm following you on the new Linky, and I hope you will follow me too :) It's a shame that those who follow with GFC and aren't with Blogger will probably loose their followers :(

Have a great up-coming week!
Warmest hugs, Brenda

Hershey and Walter...what great names. And Hershey does look like he is praying. I had a home health patient once who had hamsters having babies. They were sooooo tiny.

I don't know a thing about hamsters other than my friends two hamsters, Larry and Greg - had babies. Then they ate some of them. Hope Petco was better at identifying their gender for your kids!

Hi Sandy Sweetie...
I found you blog through Aledia's blog and am so tickled PINK. I love your beautiful blog home.

Love this post about Hershey and Walter. It looks as though the kids are really enjoying them both. Hamsters do have personality. Our grands have some guinea pigs, and they too are quite playful. They would keep me awake at night, as they sure do like to run in their wheels. Love the little puffed up face full of sesame seeds, and that one praying (actually bathing itself) is darling. Love it.

I read back and saw the beautiful pillow you created for the trunk. Oh be still my little heart. How did you make the roses? It is gorgeous dear friend. Just gorgeous. I also love that curtain. That is so elegant and flowing. I hope you will post a tutorial or two, I would love to know how you did them. Just gorgeous.

I am your newest follower and can't wait to see what you share next. Have a beautiful Valentine's Day tomorrow.

Country hugs, Sherry
