Memories to hang on the tree

I have been so behind this year with Christmas. I still haven't gotten my tree! Usually I am going crazy trying to make gifts and decorate--this year I have decided to try to enjoy the season a little more and not stress myself out trying to be Martha Stewart :)

So slowly I am getting a little at a time done. Last night I finally got these frames painted and distressed and put copied photos of past Christmas' inside of them.

You may remember what they looked like before. I have to admit I have been dreading this job for the silliest reason... I hate removing goodwill stickers! I swear they have some kind of super adhesive. Can you relate?! Anyway it is done now, and I think they will look great on the tree.

I love the idea of having memories hanging on the tree.

Like thinking back to 13 years ago--when we had 3 babies at Christmas!

Looking back to all the gifts Santa used to bring Janae!

Can't forgot the year Chantel got the Christmas cards we had received and she decided to "write back" to everyone on the cards.

It is also fun to look way back to when my sister and I were excited to get our new babies on Christmas mourn.

So anyway--every year I plan to add a few more frames. I think it will be a fun tree. Now I guess I need to get our tree!

Chantel keeps me informed how many days until Christmas--ready or not! :)

I hope this finds everyone remembering to take the time to actually enjoy the season...

Thanks for visiting!

Love this idea Sandy,I can't wait to see your tree and the photo tree. The photo's of the family are such lovely memories. The boys are so tiny.
To remove the stickers easily, dab on some methylated spirit, leave for a few minutes then wipe off. I'm not sure what you call it there or if there is something similar. We call it metho for short and use it for so many things. I put a cap full into the bucket when washing my timber floors too.
xx PS love your new photo too.

Sandy,
I just love how your pic frames turned out. It is so great to surround yourself with memories.. I love the pics with baby dolls. I wonder do little girls play with them anymore? It seems they are grown when they are born... oh and yes I do hate those goodwill stickers!

Blessings,
Amy Jo

You always decorate a tree beautifully, but I think this year with the pictures it will be even more special. Fun seeing the photos of when everyone was so young.

You are not alone, I don't have my tree up yet either! Next weekend, when you do a real tree they get too crispy by the end of the season if you put them up to early. Love your photo frame redo they came out great! Enjoy there season, Lalura

I love your frames and the photos you have chosen for them. Don't worry! You'll get everything done on time, I'm sure of it. When I find myself stressing over something, I realize that I need to take it one day at a time. I'm sure you've heard that before but it really does help. Take care!

Buy 'Goo Gone' and Goodwill stickers will never bother you again.
I am so in love with your blog. The link to Janae's blog has the most wonderful angel wings over her mantle. Did you make the wings? And is there a tutorial?

Hi Sandy!

These are the prettiest little frames! I have some too but they are all in their original "gold" finish since they actually go with my more traditional bedroom.

I think those frames are the best tree decoration idea ever! I love getting out the old Christmas photos and setting them out. Your tree will be just splendid this year! Can't wait to see the pictures.
