Sugar Plum Christmas

When I see all the pastel Christmas decorations starting to come into stores I think of the song..."I was Country when Country wasn't cool..."

I was sugar plum Christmas, when sugar plum Christmas wasn't cool.

I have always loved a pastel Christmas. For years I had a flocked tree with pink and white decorations. All my friends thought I was very "unique". Well now the market seems to be showing me I am not so unique anymore.

My rule this time of year is to save every penny to spend on gifts for my kids. But when I saw this little house for $9.99 at HomeGoods I really wanted it. There was only a few so I knew it was one of those now or never things.

I have been enjoying it all day today so I am so glad I treated myself to it. I need to get some AAA batteries because it lights up :) How cute will that be? I want to live in this little pink house.

My daughter, Janae, has been decorating her house which has been getting me in the mood to decorate for the holidays too. I found a candlestick at Goodwill that I painted in pearl paint for the holiday.

Here it is before...

and after...

So much more me in pearl white!

I am really excited to decorate my tree this year. I saw this tree not long ago in Romantic Country magazine and I want to do something similar...

I have been collecting little frames at Goodwill. I am going to paint them white and put pictures of Christmas' past in them.

I plan to do a fresh Noble tree with all white ornaments. Should be fun.

Here is last years tree--

I also have some new ideas for the mantle---I am thinking some white glittery deer would look pretty on the mantle this year.

Here is last years mantle...

So much to do...so little time!

Thanks for visiting!

Everytime you talk Christmas, Sandy you make me want white too. When you decorated you mantle last year I tried to change to white too, but I couldn't quite get enough. I had so much green and red I only managed to do the sun room in white and silver. Seeing this post has made me think white again. Thanks for the inspiration to get started. x

Oh my goodness...your home is perfectly romantic! There were some Christmas things at Homegoods that were tempting for me as well, I haven't given in YET.

You sound like me, Sandy ~ I've got lots of ideas and plans, plus I've been pinning away Christmas inspiration, but I haven't started yet. Your candlestick is so pretty and turned out great. It looks so much better white! Last year's tree looked wonderful. I want to do something similar with a small tree for our master.

I think we need to swap houses, lol! I love all of those little frames you have found and I simply cannot wait to see all of your decorations! It's funny how we have never met, but when I see aqua I think of you...you were the first person I thought of when I found my little house at Home Goods.

I love your Christmas decorations! I purchased a similar house, but smaller, at Target recently and it was pink too! I love pink! I have a small flocked pink tree, but it doesn't light any more. Last year, I picked up a bigger pink tree and this will be the first time I put it up! I have pink and pearl white ornaments for it and I may use some silver or mercury glass too! SO much fun to get t hings at thrift stores and make them your own, isn't it? Love how youro candle stick transformed with the pearl paint! I have just found your blog through Feathered Nest Fridays and will be following and enjoying more posts! Hugs, Leena, pinkcherubmoon.blogspot.com
