Lavender Roses French Dresser

I recently received a tall French Provincial dresser from a neighbor of my parents as a gift. I love this style of furniture as I have several pieces and they are always fun to remake. This dresser I particularly liked because I knew it would be a perfect place to store fabric.

It turned out exactly as I had pictured and it helped satisfy my craving for some lavender color which I have recently been so drawn too.

Here is the transformation...

Oh, isn't she pretty?!

My Grandmother's favorite color was purple and lately it is mine too! I bet Grandma would have just loved this dresser :)

Such a wonderful storage dresser too.

I think the hardware is just beautiful in it's original state.

I have done many posts on the lace technique...I think it is my favorite and I just can't get enough. A post that shows how I did it is here..http://loveofwhite.blogspot.com/2011/11/lace-on-bed.html

We have been having beautiful Fall weather--making for good painting project temperatures!

It makes me happy walking through the house and getting a glance at this pretty dresser. The lavender makes me happy! Been thinking about painting my pink door lavender too--not sure yet. Janae likes it pink :)

I wanted to thank all the people who pin me..I have noticed recently most of my blog traffic comes from Pinterest..and it is fun to get new foillowers that way!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sandy! It is gorgeous!!! I just love lavender and blue/aqua together so I can see why you are drawn to it. I love how you did the lace right into the drawer top...looks like true lace! I have been wanting to try this, so maybe this will push me right over the hump to just go for it!

Sandy,

I love the dresser. It turned out beautiful. My favorite color growing up was Lavender. I love the color. My room was Lavender, even my radio was lavender... I tried painting a room lavender a few years ago and it was quite hard to get the right shade. It always seemed to have a muddy undertone...I may try again some day.

I love the painted lace technique you have used on the drawers Sandy... it really adds a feminine touch to what is already a very sweet little dresser.
Thanks for linking up at Shabbilicious Friday. I'm thrilled to be featuring this post at tomorrow's party.

Came over the feature on this lovely dresser at Shabbilicious. Of course I am pinning it and hopefully be able to use the technique on a project of mine. It made my heart beat faster and faster as I read down the post and saw the beautiful photos.

It's amazing! I have to go read about the lace technique, as i was looking at it i was wondering how you did that! I've been drawn to lavender too lately and can't quite figure out where in my house to put it! Your house looks so so pretty in the photos. That chandy really is wonderful too...
