My dressform, Felicity

For years I have wanted a decorative dressform. I don't know what it is about them but they always inspire me to sew. Even though I don't make clothes unless it is for a canine. I see a dressform..and I want to make a pillow!

Well a month or so ago Chantel and I were at Goodwill and Chantel found one. It is perfect! It is really heavy, the stand is like iron or something. The fabric is french and neutral--so perfect! It is in perfect condition.

The only problem she had was she had a black stand..which looked fine but a little too black for my craft area.

A little paint and accessories and she is perfect!

I named her Felicity which is a French name meaning great happiness. I can tell you I did a happy dance when I found her at Goodwill.

I am just tickled to have her.

It has been a beautiful Fall so far. Yesterday was 78 degrees. Not the norm for Oregon in Fall but I am loving it. It is great painting weather!

Chantel went to her first homecoming dance. She looked beautiful. I can't believe how she is growing up!

The homecoming theme was old Hollywood. when I picked her up at the end of the dance she and her friends were limping out--dancing all night in heels took its toll on their feet. They had fun though!

This sunny weather have kept my baskets looking good.

I still have the occasional rose to bring in the house too!

The sun coming in the house looks so pretty.

I am off to finish painting my dining room chairs...but I have this terrible urge to make a  pillow! :)

Thanks for visiting!

PS I don't know how you get your hanging basket to look so fall and cover the basket. Mine really struggle to cover the basket.

You lucky, lucky girl, Sandy! What a great thrift store find. I'm sure if one ever wound up at the thrifts here it would be gone in a matter of seconds. I love it in your creative space!

I don't know which is more beautiful - the dress form or Chantel. =) What a great Goodwill score. The ones here NEVER have spectacular pieces like that. A girl can hope...
