Pink Plates

Just wanted to do a quick post--I have so busy trying to get my Easter Bunny duties done I haven't been able to work on my many projects I have lined up to do. Other problem is I have a bad hip that has been killing me. I am way to young for a hip replacement but it runs in our family to have to have them. It is not good timing so I just keep "doing my thing" and not think about the pain. Also, Gage went swimming yesterday and I am afraid he got chilled because he is sick again. I also have a cold that is hanging on..I think because I am out of vitamin C. I am a strong believer in the power of vitamin C.

So what I wanted to share today is just something simple that I am so excited about. I have been wanting some pale pink small plates since I made my new spring napkin rings. Janae was shopping at Home Goods with some friends and found these for me. I am delighted with them! I know my husband doesn't understand why small things make me so happy--but he should count his blessings. At least I do not desire diamonds!

I think these plates look perfect with my other larger plates. The shape is great too--love the little dots around the edges.

I love pink with aqua--it is the color combination I love right now. It looks so pretty and spring like. I want to get some more pink dishes..because as the years go by one color that has always stayed consistent with me is my love for pink. Though my favorite home decorating color is aqua, and I love that color to wear and everything right now, my true love is pink.

Thought to end this post I will show some of Gage's artwork. The other day he came home with finger paint showing on his hands and I knew a masterpiece would soon come home.  Well, here it is!

I have to ask his assistant if maybe they could do one in aqua and pink:)--then I could frame it for my sun room.

Thanks for visiting!

Hi Sandy,
Love your pretty pink plates and the tablescape that you've created.
The rosette napkin rings are adorable.

Looks like you have a budding artist on your hands.

Oh my goodness, your little pink plates are to die for. I totally understand why you'd be so tickled to have them. I need to go to Homegoods and find some for myself! And,.. i have hip pain too... it's called trochantric bursitis, at least what i have is... and it hurts like the devil, very fatiguing to walk, and hurts at night... so i empathize... The type of shoe you wear can totally flare that up!

I love that delicate shade of pink, too! And the polka dot and scalloped edges. I had a whole set of dishware like that from Southern Living at Home in butter yellow and a very pale green but they have broken over the years, and I need a new set. There isn't a Home Goods near me (closest is 2 hrs away) but think I need to make a field trip there. So many cute things you and Janae' have bought there!
BTW have a beautiful Easter celebration with your family! Happy Easter!

I love your pale pink plates too. So soft and lovely. But I love Gages painting the very best. I treasure to this day some of the things that my children did.

And you know I remember a painting of some mountains I did when I was 12. My mother framed it and displayed it above her dresser for many years. I was so touched as a child. It meant so much to me then....and even today as an adult.

YOur blog is lovely and uplifting, and I certainly hope that your fever is gone and you feel much better... what a great Easter you all had together.. Your hip pain should not be ignored, you need to get it seen and decide what to do.. if it is a Hip replacement, you will feel so much better afterwards, I had mine done 5 years ago and never felt better... so it is worth having done... good luck and have a super week.. Hugs from across the pond.. J
