Spring is here!

Spring is finally here! I think it is my favorite season. Not too hot..not too cold..just pretty flowers and Spring break for the kids. I love Spring.

With Spring comes Easter.. which makes for so many pretty pastel colors to decorate with. I don't have very many Easter decorations but my daughter Janae is the Queen of Easter decorating. I really can't compete with her as she has 2 live "decorations" :)

I cheated a bit by decorating with a photo of some of her decorations including her bunny Frankie. You can see her Easter decorating post here if you haven't seen it already. She has a beautifully decorated home for someone of any age..but it is really amazing since she is only 24. Yes I am a proud Mom!

A few little bunnies here and there make the house look cute.

Bringing a little Spring inside the house makes me happy too.

I found something fun at Walmart. These faux dyeable Easter eggs are kind of fun!

The kids dyed some for me and now I can leave them sitting out.

My cross' and things I have out year round add to the Easter theme beautifully.

A church near our house has a great quote on their readerboard right now.

Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you handle it

I love that quote and I believe it to be true. I always try to have a positive attitude but some days it is hard. Living on a really tight budget is really hard...especially during this time of year when the utility bills are so high. Sometimes I get a little down and I have to remind myself to handle it better. I have to say that a little "thrifting therapy" is always good for my spirit. I found this comforter at Goodwill the other day and found myself giggly happy. My son Wyatt was laughing at me.

It is in perfect condition but the tag is cut off. I believe that it is Laura Ashley. Does anybody know? It is springy and pretty and cost very little so it lifts my spirits. I can never have too many pretty comforters.

My fur-kids agree. They think every new comforter must be for them.

Have a lovely day and thanks so much for visiting!

Sandy, Happy Spring to you and all of your sweet pastels. I just found some dainty, little dessert plates with tiny pink roses and brought them to my shop. I think of you whenever I see something "Shabby Sandy!"
I must hop over to Janae's to see what adorable pics she has posted!
Hugs,
JP

You have decorated with a pretty nod to Spring and Easter. Love the fact that I can buy the faux eggs at Walmart. I want to color "eggs" but don't have anyone to eat them.
Thanks.

I need to get my Easter decorations out this weekend, Sandy. I don't have a lot either, but just enough to say "Easter". Besides, I have bunnies out all year throughout our home because I am a bunny nut.

The comforter is lovely Sandy! My fur kids think the same thing, everything must be for them, why else would I bring it home? Loved the quote and I too believe that it is true. We can't change the things that happen to us, but we are in control of how we react to them. Why not make things as good for ourselves and our families as we can? Why spend time being unhappy when there are still so many things to be happy about? Just think about the things we would miss if we chose to be unhappy.

Spring is definitely enchanting as are all the colors. I have a twin sheet/blanket in that same pattern I found at the Thrift and I'm making an apron out of it, its such fun colors for something like that. I love teh 3 frames on the wall! You are so talented and have made so much out of so little! :-) I do hope the best for you. lady

Sandy,
First I have to say.... love your furry kids! So sweet.
I love the tiered display with the dyed eggs and your thrift store comforter is gorgeous.
I know what you mean about.... "thrifting therapy". It was nice last week and after what seemed like a long winter.... I went on a day trip. Visiting my local flea market and thrift stores. It is good "therapy".
Hope you will pop over for a visit. I've made over a couple of my flea market finds already.
Have a lovely weekend.

I think that when we live on a budget we are more thankful for what we have. We are also more thankful for the deals we find. You found a good one. The comforter is beautiful. You must have a much better Goodwill then I do here in Salem Or. I am always leaving without anything. Good job!!! Oh, and the babies really add to the beauty :-)

I love your daughter's and your houses! The Madonna statue on your mantel is beautiful. I cannot believe you have hummers that stick around all winter long! Whatever do they eat? How wonderful that your hubby put out heating lamps for them! The comforter you got is fabulous and it's clear that the fur babies think so, too!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Spring! I do think the comforter is Laura Ashley. It looks really really pretty and springy either way. Glad the "kids" love it!

Everything looks beautiful and I love all of your Easter and spring touches. I do think that is a Laura Ashley comforter. I had a shower curtain in that pattern several years ago and I'm pretty positive it was L.A. Thanks for sharing!

Your house is so pretty & looking like spring!
I love that triple frame!
I thought of you today! I was at IKEA & I saw a couch there with that floral fabric you just got in a slipcover.
I got some of those pretty lacy flowerpots in pastel green, pink, & white!
I have an idea on how you can support your Goodwill shopping habit! You are so talented...why don't you make us some lovelies & sell them on ETSY? We all admire, from afar, all the pretty things you make for yourself & your daughters & the doggies! We would all benefit. You could make some money & we could own some of your pretty things too! : )

The Comforter is made by Croscill. I have 2 throw pillows that would match your comforter. I also had a sheet that matched at one time.

Oh, Sandy, you'd love adopting a senior dog! They're already house trained and have grown out of the chewing everything in sight phase! I highly recommend it! So many deserving older animals are in the shelters and pounds!

Talk to you soon!
