Coffee Tray Remake

I like to find little projects I can do with treasures found at Goodwill.  My teenage daughter, Chantel, always tells me "You don't need that". Well, she is usually right, but this time I didn't listen and bought this cute tray.

Somebody made this..I think it is charming. But I like things painted so here is what I did...

My printer is having issues and so I wasn't able to print out a graphic so I just searched for retro coffee graphic and then freehanded what I saw. Then I traced it onto tissue paper and then used a sharpie and traced it again...leaving the outline on the tray.

Then I just filled in the outline with acrylic paint.

It isn't perfect..but I think it is cute. There are a lot of things I could have done--like bought a cool wall sticker or something...but this way fit into my budget...free :)

I need to put some sealer on it and then I will be able to bring Chantel her morning iced coffee on it :)

I am still enjoying all the flowers in my garden. It has been a little cold this week so I haven't been getting all the weeding done that I want to. I have been shopping with Janae in the garden shops as she is buying annuals for her house. That is much more fun than weeding anyway!

It is so nice to have flowers to put in my Flora Doora's! Makes my entry look so inviting.

Enjoy spring and thanks for visiting!

That is a beautiful tray that you found at the thrift shop. I like the idea of you using what you have and not having to buy a lot of expensive things to redo it! Nice job! Nancy http://cozythymecottage.blogspot.com/

The little tray turned out really cute. I think you should start charging Chantel 5 cents for her iced coffee in the morning haha jk. I need some flowers for my flora Dora you got me :)

I think your tray turned out really cute. I love the ornate- ness of the handles. It looks so much better white too. Happy weekend to you if I don't see you again between now and then.

Need and want are two completely different things.

But, I think your daughter is wrong - you needed that tray just so you could give it new life.

Love the tray and the painted Ball jars.

And, I LOVE your flora doras. I have never heard of them or seen them. I just added a wire rack in my entry and I think it needs a flora dora. That means a project for the weekend.

Very pretty piece, Sandy! I love the detail on each end. I also have always liked to look for things to makeover at Goodwill. You sometimes fnd the cutest things that would look so much better painted and you can't beat the price. Nice job on this!

Hi Sandy :) I love the tray! It turned out so cute. I could never do something that good free hand. I love the colors you chose too and the distressing on the handles is perfect! Im a major coffee addict, lol. I bet Chantel will change her mind about you needing the tray once you start bringing her iced coffee with it! lol. Dont you just love Floora Dooras? I have a white one and I think they are just the cutest idea! Very prairie chic :)
Have a wonderful weekend,
Amy

I actually think the paint "coffee" is WAY better than using a sticker! Makes it more authentic or chic I think somehow...:) Very cute!
