Walking to Goodwill

The other day Chantel and I decided it would be a beautiful day to walk to Goodwill.  It is probably about a mile away.  Well, as is our luck, it didn't stay a beautiful day!

That's a telephone book in their front yard. Around here we get one delivered about every month. What's up with that? Does anyone even use a telephone book anymore?
On our walk we passed a favorite house of mine. I have always loved this house. It is near Chantel's school--which used to be my school when I was her age. I have been admiring this house for many years!

This moss covered fence is at another neighbors house. I always think it looks neat when I walk by it daily to meet my Mom to walk at the school, so I decided to take a picture of it!

After going to Goodwill it started to rain. We decided to walk to Grandma and Grandpa's (my parents) because they live really near Goodwill. I knew my husband was going there after work to help my Dad with his pond so he could take us home. :)

My Dad's pond is so beautiful in the summer. I will have to post pictures of it later this year. Right now all the fish are still sleeping.

My parents yard is beginning to be taken over with ivy. Ivy grows all too well in Oregon. It is actually illegal to plant ivy in Oregon now. It is overtaking our state! But it still looks kind of neat in the picture:)

Our walk to Goodwill resulted in me finding this blue pitcher, that I just love.  We also found some stuff for Janae.

Love this little bird--Janae and I both got these on sale at Fred Meyers. Looks so sweet with the nest in it. It is suppose to hold a votive candle.

I got a couple of flowers to plant today. Sunshine..where did you go? Do you not know it is spring break?

By the way, my Mother loved her strawberry cart. Thanks to everyone who commented on it.

Thanks for visiting!

Sandy, your photos are lovely! The yellow house is adorable! I also love your Goodwill finds! You always find the greatest items! I adore the bird and nest; they're a favorite of mine!

I love the nest and eggs you made for the little bird better than using a candle, Sandy! I'm sure the ivy is invasive {we had some that was a horror to try and get rid of at our old house} but it looks like a secret garden in these pictures.

I absolutely love the blue pitcher! What a great Club Goodwill find! (I've hosted a blog party called "Club G.W." for us Goodwill lovers. You'll have to join in when I start it up again!) It's so nice to live near family. We're in the midwest and our families are on the east coast and it's really hard to be so far apart. Enjoy every day!

I love the fact that you still live in your home town and walk by the same house with your daughter that you walked by when you were going to school! Brought back good memories for me although I did not stay in the town I loved. You found wonderful things sorry it rained. The blue pitcher looks wonderful on your table runner! I also love the post of your Cart clothes you made for your mother! I would love to make one for my cart did you design or follow a pattern? Can't wait to see yours with three coordinating fabrics!!!
Had fun reading your blog love love love the yellow house as well!

It is lovely how you took us on your walk with you via photos & descriptions. I'm so thankful that Jerry helps Dad with his pond. I'm glad that you and Chantel stopped by with your Good Will treasures. If anyone knows how to get rid of ivy, I'd really like your advice!

What a beautiful area you live in. Sorry the sun didn't stay out for you, that seems to be our luck during break too. I love your finds, beautiful! Your parents pond is so pretty and is that some Trillium that I see? I just love them. It is illegal to pick those here in Michigan, I believe they are our state flower. :)

Its so neat that you can walk to your GW. I'd have to walk at least 10 miles or more.(smile) Just a little too far for me here. I'll just drive (smile).

Love your new blue pitcher. Its really pretty Sandy. And your little ceramic bird and nest. So sweet. Its kinda fun that both you and Janae have one. She is her mothers daughter. Thats really neat....so very special.

That is a lovely yellow house with the cute white picket fence around it. I don't blame you for admiring it! It is Spring break here next week. So far, the weather is nice. Hope it will be next week too. Love your Dad's fish pond. I think those are so nice. My inlaws have one and we always enjoy looking at their fish when they come to the top of the water.
