My little ruffler attachment is getting quite a workout! Though the 2012 self proclaimed "year of the ruffle" has only just begun!
This is my project I spent my afternoon and evening yesterday working on. Being fast with a project has never been one of my attributes! It makes me tired thinking about the 3 more of these I need to make. It was a lot of pressing, sewing, ruffling, repeat. Thank goodness I wasn't having to do the ruffles the old fashioned way or I would probably still be working on it. I did french seams and made it all very finished so it can go through the wash many many times.
I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. Even though it took me hours...I have to be happy in the fact that the total cost of this project was 3.99...the cost of a sheet set at Goodwill that looked like it had never been used. Oh, how I love Goodwill!
I thought I would add some pictures of the ruffler attachment for those of you that don't yet have one..the pictures are dark because I took them last night. You can see how you can adjust how full the ruffles are, etc.
This is a piece that is really worth the money if you plan to do many ruffles. I got mine several years ago for $25. I consider it a necessary part of my ruffling projects. I was never very good at ruffling by hand.
The ruffles are uniform and can be adjusted to be fuller, or less full, depending on what you like.
Can't wait until all the chairs are covered, ruffled and beautiful!
Thanks for visiting my blog!

I will definitely need to get a ruffle attachment for my machine. Your ruffled chair cushion is lovely. Hope you will stop by Magnolia Cottage for a visit!
i just LOVE this, sandy:)
I love it! I've seen them with one ruffle but never 2. I just got a french set to paint and I need to make seat covers for. I'm your newest follower.
Read before about you declaring the "Year of the Ruffle" and by golly, that's what's going on for you- and I L.O.V.E. it :) Doing great, these seat covers are adorable.
Thanks for sharing with all of us :)

The chair is very cute. I would love to do some of these but I don't know if I have the patience to do six of them. I'm thinking about it.
I have the old ruffler from my grandmother's old treadle sewing machine that I use as a paperweight/art object on my desk. I love the one that I actually use -- it is so lightweight in comparison to the old relic!
Beautiful Sandy, I so love ruffles and especially those bows at the back.
I bought a ruffle foot a few years back, but find it doesn't ruffle up enough. I suppose I will have to practice more, when I can get the time. You have inspired me to get into it. Thanks, xx jeanetteann
Looks like I need that ruffle thing for my machine:) Love what you did....so very PRETTY!!!

I am your newest follower. I love blogging, scrapbooking, sewing, crafting of any kind and especially anything vintage, or vintage look. I love what you did with your sweet French chairs. I think we have lots in common and would love to be known among your blogging friends. Maybe in the spring we could do a swap of some sort. Thanks for your sweet comment over at Something Special.
I love it! I am getting ready to make a ruffled bedside table cloth, and didn't realize you could get a ruffling foot. I'm going to have to check out my sewing store for one (since I can think of many more ruffling projects in my future-I just love ruffles!)
This is beautiful! I love ruffles and I so need to invest in a ruffling foot, that would make things so much easier.
Beautiful blog, following you as well.

I am loving them- and I need a ruffler too!! I usually ruffle by hand and sew! Thanks for linking up at Feathered Nest Friday!

Just found your blog and happy that I did. What in the world is a ruffler attachment? I sew quite a few ruffles on to things and do everything by hand. I mean everything. I have redone my entire apt that way, including slipocvering my sofa and parsons chairs. I got a sewing machine for chirstmas and am just learning to use it. I have tons to learn but am happy to know that this exists.
your chair looks great

I would die without my ruffle foot! I've done it the hard way for so many years and finally got one for my new sewing machine. Shwew...talk about easier! This is just so darn cute! You've done a super nice job!
