My December Table

I previously posted my deer and tree that I had planned to use on my December table centerpiece. Now that Thanksgiving is just a memory I put together my centerpiece.
I love these pictures as the sun was coming in on a beautiful winter afternoon. I am still so pleased with the white and glitter job I did on the deer and tree. Isn't it fun when you are just tickled about something?! Simple pleasures I guess.

Though I love decorating the table I am not so much on the cooking. I was thinking today how much I dislike the whole process...the grocery shopping, the cooking, and the cleaning it up. If I had my way we would spend December eating take out at this table leaving me time to create Christmas gifts!

Oh well...in my dreams...

OK Sandy where did you find the deer? I went to Hobby Lobby today and yes I found one but I am NOT paying 69.00 for a plastic one... And one more thing Tia wants to know if Gage is ready for Christmas? and what does he what this year.....Happy Wed.

It IS fun, when you do something really pretty and are tickled about it! Your little deer is delightful in white with sparkles... and your table looks wonderful. I love the way you hung the ornaments on the chandy too...

I've become a bit weary of having to do all the cooking, clean up and decorating, but I think I would get all territorial if someone tried to help! It's a Catch-22 over here! :-) Very nice table, especially the feathers and the reindeer!!!

Hi Sandy! Always some pretty. That little deer came out so cute. You mention earlier that the crackle was a pleasant surprise. When I taught decorative painting (80's) we crackled everything with a layer of Hide glue (not white or water based). Painted the base color, brushed on the glue, then painted the top coat. That was before the big crackle fad and the pre-made products. Kinda like the Annie Sloan paint... we used Gesso or even heavy flat house paint...

Thanks for coming to the party and also for sharing the Christmas Pet Parade button on your sidebar :)
