My Mom found a tray at a garage sale the other day for 75 cents. Though useful, I thought I could make it prettier. My parents recently painted one of the walls in their kitchen red. I had the sample from when I was helping them choose the color and so I used it to paint the tray.
I added the lace technique, and it made for a very pretty tray!
It started out looking like this.
Amazing what a little paint can do!
Mom was pleased!
I have told the kittens "no more bottle" and they are not happy with me. Though they drink and eat just fine on their own it is like a baby getting rid of their pacifier...they don't want to give up the bottle. To get them to look for a picture all I have to do is hold up a bottle. Kind of mean of me. But you do what you have to for a picture.:)

The kids only have 1.5 days of school left, and the kittens are eating by themselves. I see sleep in my future:)! I always like when the kids don't have school. When I can get some extra sleep in the morning I get so much more done during the day. Besides that, I just like having the kids home. Fighting and all.
Right now I am enjoying my last bouquet of Peonies for this year. I will miss them!
Thanks for visiting!
That turned out so pretty. I love the lace technique.
ReplyDeleteThe tray is awesome!!! You did an awesome job, easy to see why she was pleased!!
ReplyDeleteLove the kitty pictures, my favorite is the last one, with Phoebe the escape artist!! Love that name, considering using it for our new addition, she is doing great, settling in just fine!!! She has a home now and she knows it!!!
It turned out lovely! I have GOT to try the lace thing one of these days. Your kittens are darling. I'll have to read further to see why they are all bottle fed (poor you - sorry about those mid-night feedings).
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful evening.
Blessings... Polly
The tray is awesome! Those kittens look so cute! You must be so relieved that the night feedings are over. I don't know how you did it.
ReplyDeleteYou are enjoying your stencils again I see. How lovely for your mum. It's so cheery.
ReplyDeleteI love that little ginger kitten climbing over your white cushion.:)
It is exactly like our Ginger Megs we used to have. Full of mischief, typical red head, (Two of my children have red hair and one grandson) They are all so gorgeous. xx
Hi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteGreat makeover on the tray! The kittens are precious :-) Sweet dreams to you (and sunshine!)
Hugs,
Bella
The tray turned out great. The red tray does remind me of dairy queen days lol. I'm so glad the kittens are eating on their own. I'm very jealous the kids are out of school I miss summer breaks!
ReplyDeleteAlthough the dairy queen trays were no where near as pretty!
DeleteYeah, red reminds me of Dairy Queen too. Now I am craving a blizzard.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteThe tray is beautiful, your Mom is beaming with pride! Happy almost summer vacation!
enJOY a lovely day,
Kimberly

ReplyDeleteFabulous job on the tray! The kittens are beyond darling.
ReplyDeleteXO,

Sandy, the tray looks beautiful in my strawberry decorated kitchen...Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteThe kittens grow even cuter as they grow.
That tray is awesome! Is that actual lace?
ReplyDeleteOh my, the kittens! They are TOO cute. Such little sweeties. I love the little white paws on the black ones. Yes, you must be relieved to not have to make bottles anymore. (Although it is such a nice bonding experience to bottle feed!) Are they using the litter box? That's the other big milestone.
The kitties are adorable. I'm really enjoying the extra hour of sleep in the morning too. The difference between getting up at 6am vs 7am is amazing. Plus I don't feel like I have to take a nap in the afternoon.
ReplyDeleteOh my those kittens are darling! You and your daughter would have a beautiful booth! Xo Olivia
ReplyDeleteReally nice tray...very cool! xo
