Ready for a Spring Cleaning

Today was a warm day--for Oregon--and it really got me in the mood for a good spring cleaning. I hate to admit that Santa is still in the bathroom and the garage looks like it could be on an episode of Hoarders. I am really ready to do a major Spring cleaning!

Last year our front porch looks like this...

Right now it looks like this...

I like it when the window boxes look like this...

But right now they look like this...

So you can probably imagine how anxious I am to get back to the pretty look :) Today I felt some hope as I found several things blooming.

Also, the Daphne is starting to bloom and the smell on our front porch is absolutely intoxicating!

I wish I could find a candle in that scent!

It was such a nice warm day and so Janae walked with my Mother and I..and between the 3 of us we have quite a handful of dogs to walk!

Spring cleaning will have to wait at least another day or so...because my niece, Courtney, is getting married tomorrow. I am the photographer so wish me luck with getting really good shots.

I am painting one of my favorite frames to use as a prop in some of the wedding photos...

So Spring cleaning will have to wait just a bit.
I tell you though--I really have to get Santa out of the bathroom!

Thanks for visiting!

  3. Supposedly Flora Napa Valley (a perfume company I think ) makes both a perfume and a candle based on the daphne flower, called "CIELO"- check it out online and maybe you can find a small candle or perfume sample to try?

  10. Beautiful post, Sandy. Love the way you were able to catch the beauty of the flowers. Hopefully we will have some more warm & dry days soon. I really enjoyed walking with you and Janae, and all the puppies.

  11. Great post! I feel bad that most of you are having such bad weather with snow and such. In Fullerton yesterday it was 92 and I just couldn't get out of the garden, so I know how you feel wanting to get into the flowers.
Don't feel bad I am still finding little Christmas decorations here and there. You should see my garage.
    Have a great weekend.

  15. Being from Oregon myself, I can understand the excitement of spring cleaning. I was out today getting those nasty weeds out of my beds. It was so wonderful to get outside. But we still have more rain coming to sunny Oregon :-) . Enjoy the wedding.
