I am a strong believer in the packaging of a present making that present so much more special!
After many years of hastily wrapping up barbies the night before Christmas, this year I am trying to take a deep breath, be relaxed and enjoy wrapping my gifts. Afterall, there is no barbies to wrap anymore.
There is so much inspiration out there in blogland for gift wrapping. Last night I spent about an hour looking thru blogs and getting inspired on how to wrap my gifts.
As I shared before wrapping with brown paper and tying with lace is a favorite of mine. But then I saw people using torn fabric and I love that idea!
This was so easy! Just tore some long pieces of fabric and wrapped them around the gift as I would with ribbon. Then I took a torn piece of eyelet and folded it back and forth. I took one of my paper roses (cue Marie Osmond) and they have an attached wire. Wrapped the wire around the folded fabric, and then around the fabric on the gift, fluffed it up and done! I love the look.
A little bling always looks good! This is some of the fabric I dyed a couple months ago.
So my sons and I have not been feeling well. We have had the stomach flu and it hasn't been fun. But I am feeling better, as are the boys, and so today I was actually able to take my parents Christmas card pictures.
I love my Dad's sense of humor. I was happy to get out of the house after a few days of being sick :)
Still really enjoying my tree!
So, how is wrapping going at your house?
Thanks for visiting!
What prettily wrapped gifts! I love the vintage fabrics and flowers, and lace ... my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI'm still enjoying your tree, too.
Love those photo frames.
Hugs and happy holidays,
Patti
I love how you wrapped your presents...I have been putting it off, but now I have some inspiration! Hugs, Penny

Hi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteYour gifts look gorgeous! Love the torn fabric and those rose are beautiful! Love your tree too:-)
Hugs,
Bella
The gifts all look gorgeous!!!! I love the funny picture of grandpa and grandma!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You said Marie Osmond...does she have her own line of bows? It really does make the gift more special to wrap them prettily. My neighbor gave me a gift with a beautiful wrapping, and I saved it. I have had it for a couple of years now and every Christmas I look at it and think maybe I will use it for someone else. But I never do;)!

Amy Jo
Your gifts look so pretty, Sandy! I am using up all the patterned paper I would buy this year so next year I can do either kraft paper or plain white paper and embellish them prettily. Your parents picture came out great ~ good looking couple your parents! : )
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wrapping job, I love the fabric you chose.
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Sandy, your gift wrapping is so beautiful, unique, & clever! So pretty we won't want to open the gifts & mess up the wrapping. :-) Thank you for taking pictures for our Christmas cards yesterday.
ReplyDeleteEach and every one a beauty!
ReplyDeleteFor a lady who has been sick, you certainly have accomplished a lot. Your presents are so beautifully wrapped that it's almost a sin to unwrap them. How gorgeous they are! I just want to add that I think your mother has such beautiful hair! Lovely photo of your parents, Sandy!
ReplyDeleteOh Sandy your gifts are SO Rachel Ashwell!!! Love them! I would rather have a candy bar wrapped up gorgeously than a pair of diamond earrings in a bag any day. It's the wrapping that I love : )
ReplyDeleteI also love your beautiful tree. Your whole house is beautiful.
Your parents are darling! I love the pics of them. I sure hope you get to feeling better.
hugs...
If I got a present from you... I am sorry but I would not open it. The wrapping is just too pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty packaging, I agree a present should look beautiful when wrapped. I like the brown paper with your "ribbons". Thanks so much for stopping by, Laura
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are feeling better Laura- hope the boys will soon too! The flu seems to be really a kicker already this season.
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty presents!!!! I used to love to wrap presents and would even wrap for my friends! Now that the boys are gone we don't do presents much and if we do it's those gift bags- they have made me so lazy!
