The Magic of Paint and Glitter

I think I can make almost anything pretty with a little white paint and some glitter... 
 


I painted several things recently and the glitter just brought them alive!

They started out looking like this...

I like to spray paint on my old wicker and that way I don't waste any paint!



and turned into this!


Being able to transform things like this brings me joy! We live on an extremely limited budget--but our surroundings are beautiful! Thanks to a little creativity, some paint and some glitter.


The paint just naturally crackled just like it did last year on a similar deer. I love the look :) I am thinking he needs something pretty around his neck. He is looking a little too naked.

 
 I am planning to use this star on top of my tree this year. Isn't it lovely? Much better than the former gold look it had. A pretty tree topper for $2.99 at Goodwill!

Besides painting some pretties I also did some Black friday shopping with the girls. Janae needed a camera so we did the wait in line at Best Buy thing. It is always kind of fun actually. It has become a tradition. We always seem to find some line we need to wait and freeze in. :)

My budget doesn't include things like a camera (and thankfully I already have one) but I did get this sweet crystal tree for $5.25 at Michaels.


I think it looks just perfect on the mantle!

I also couldn't help myself to get a couple more little houses which has become my new collection.

I got this white church at Marshall's...

 

This sweet little blue house (from HomeGoods) looks so cute with my pink house.


I am beginning to have my own little neighborhood! I think these will always bring back happy Christmas memories each year when I get them out. Some decorations are just special..that is how I feel about these.

    It's amazing what a little white paint and some glitter can do for thrifty finds. Love the reindeer and the star.
    My favorite is always those pretty churches and houses. There is just something magical about them.

    Your projects all turned out so pretty! It is so amazing what a difference a little glitter and paint can make! It is a good idea to spray on the wicker, I should be doing that one mine, its getting a little worn out. Thanks for going Black Friday shopping with me it was fun!

    Beautiful sparkly prettiness! oh i just love everything Sandy,i have some roses that i am going to glitter and you have me all ready to go now after seeing your sparkly cones,i have a star just like that too,it's gold but after seeing yours i am guessing mine won't be gold for long.

    I love your painted and glittered decore! So pretty! Especially those pine cones.... what a transformation to cold! I'm not a HUGE gold advocate but I absolutely love all the white that you do! I also really enjoy Black Friday, I don't even need to buy anything I just like to be a part of it! Even if that means I'm standing in the cold!

    I love how you've transformed everything with paint and glitter. I feel so nostalgic when I see little Christmas villages. They remind me of my maternal grandmother. Yours are so pretty.

    I love the little houses too, and the village that you are starting to create with them. And, isn't it so cool to be able to take something like the reindeer and pine cones, and make them into something so pretty for practically nothing! I love projects like that!

    I absolutely adore glitter houses. I don't have any yet but I think I'm going to try and get some after Christmas when they're on sale. I love your white transformations. The deer is cute ... I like the way the paint crackled on him.
