I can't believe that Chantel is 14. In one year she could get her drivers permit. It is hard to believe. It seems like yesterday I had 3 toddlers. After the boys turn 13 next month I will have 3 teenagers! God be with me.
Chantel is at that age where I am not allowed to take her picture unless she approves. She almost never approves. So I can take what I can get--here she is running towards me from the ocean. She is a beautiful runner.
On Friday night we had cheesecake (plain cheesecake is her favorite--she is my pickiest child..I nicknamed her "Miss Picky Pants").
Her cheesecake had candles that the flames glowed the color of the candle. Being the budget keeper that I am there are only 12 candles--because I didn't want to buy 2 packs! :)
She would so not agree to me posting this picture but I want to remember how fun and dramatic she can be at this age. There is nothing boring about Chantel.
It was Saturday..her actual birthday that we spent at the beach with Janae and the dogs (Bella, Lacie, Daisy and Duke).
It was such a busy day at the beach. I don't think I have ever been there with so many people!
Janae was busy as always getting the perfect picture of her girls.
I think she succeeded! I love this picture--what a great summer shot. Both dogs are "smiling". Janae somehow took the people out of the background.
Chantel dug a hole for Duke.
He liked it.
I tried to tell a dog joke to get the dogs to smile and it didn't work. Made Janae crack up though
I guess Bella and Lacie don't get my humor. :)
A little dog shop at the beach had these cute dog bows that attach to their collar with velcro. Now I want to make fabric roses and attach them to dog collars. I bet I could sell those.:) I think it looks so cute on her. I should make a daisy for Daisy.
I would rather be taking the picture than in it (I'm as bad as Chantel!) but I decided recently I have to let pictures be taken of me...so there are some that exist! This is Daisy and I on the beach--we were both so covered in sand. Since my name is Sandy I guess it is appropriate. :)
We had dinner at a little place that had delicious clam chowder. Janae thought the best she had ever had. You have to have a great bowl of clam chowder when you go to the coast! It worked out great they had outdoor seating since we had more dogs than people.
Daisy and Bella got to ride in the puppy stroller, Lacie got carried in the puppy carrier, and Duke, being the only male in our group, walked on his own.
I realize I am a true blue Oregonian...but honestly I don't think it gets much more beautiful than this. I love the Oregon coast. There was a guy playing a french horn as we watched the sun go down. It was such a lovely time.
I can't wait until we go again!
Thanks for sharing Chantel's birthday with me. Have a great week!
