My parents have this bronze flatware that was bought for them by my Grandfather in the early 60's when he was in Vietnam.
It is not my style, or theirs. But I was wondering if anybody knows some idea of what the value of it would be?
It has elephant heads on it and is quite heavy. Any knowledge about this anyone could share would be greatly appreciated.
We have been enjoying 80 degree weather today. The last couple days were cloudy and the kids and I enjoyed the break from the sun. But the sun is back and looks like it will be here for the next week.
Gage and Fez thought today was a great day to take a long nap.
I took a bunch of pictures of Phoebe the other day I think are adorable.
Losing Sassy made me realize you can never take too many pictures!
Thanks for visiting!
Hi Sandy,I have no idea about your cutlery, but they are very different from what I have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteLove your photo's xx
I have a very similar set - service for 12 - in it's own wooden, velvet-lined box. I paid only $60.00 for it at a garage sale. I thought it was a great deal and I love it. My younger daughter claimed it and ran off with it!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, how cute is your little cat!!! I have no clue about your cutlery but it's very unique. There may be a website somewhere that can do an online appraisal possibly?
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog. You asked how big my Dream catcher is...I got an 8 inch one, which is the smallest Tausha makes:) I love it!
i've not seen anything like these, sandy. very unique and does not look mass produced. cute pictures today:)
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteI have no idea about the silverware. It isn't my style either but I think it is very beautiful! 80 degrees sounds like winter to us right now we are 99 degrees some days but always in the upper 90's..HOT.
Blessings,
Amy Jo
Ooh, love that cultry set. Your sun flowers are so pretty too. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteOh my those are sweet images..Gage and Fez are adorable together. Hope your weather cools off soon...I will send you our rain...that is all we have been getting up here on the West Coast. xoxox
ReplyDeleteAny antiques roadshows coming to Portland? Or call an auction house to speak to their appraisers. You can find some appraisals (comparisons) online but I think you should do it in person. You could make bank (if you want to sell!)

Hi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteI can't help you with the flatware, but seeing your darling Gage and Fez sure did make me smile.
Our weather was wonderful last week, it was in the eighties, but today hit ninety and that's a little hot for me. I do love the sunshine though. Things are growing like crazy.
We had a set growing up from when we lived in Thailand which is right next to Vietnam. Ours is either brass or bronze, I can't remember but I can ask my mom...I see them for sale on occasion and they don't get much money because they are not in favor. I have also heard they might be hazardous to eat from!!! lol~but I think they could make a stunning Bohemian table setting mixing hot pinks, aquas and orange with the brass settings and some moroccan lanterns for lighting.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy!
ReplyDeleteInteresting (and we all know what that means) flatware. I think they are brass, but wouldn't it be something if they were gold?!
Fez and Gage look pretty comfortable napping on the sofa. I have been doing some of that lately...
Thanks for sharing this at my party :)

Wednesdays Bunny Hop!
They were mass produced, although all items from Indonesia, etc... are artisian, and have lovely detailing. Similar sets of for 12 people sell for about $150, and it is brass, not bronze.
