Today was such a beautiful day! I have learned to really appreciate days like this. In March we had the most rain is recorded history for that month. That is really saying something for Oregon, because we always have a lot of rain. Today though, the sun streamed in the windows, and when walking with my Mother we didn't even need coats. The fresh air and sunshine seemed to revive us, and our walk was much more enjoyable than it has been.
I actually was able to get some gardening done! I planted a beautiful pink tulip that on got on clearance at Fred Meyer's...
I want to get more pink tulips because I have such a love for pink flowers. The tulips that were already planted here are yellow and red.
I was able to do all the weeding in the parkway in front of our house. I couldn't bring myself to pull up this little cutie though, so it still remains, alone in the rocks.
Last year this weeping cherry (below) was almost dead and we thought we would have to take it out. But I spent $20 on some fertilizer/bug killer that I thought might help it and this year it is looking great! I think it looks really good considering the snow and hail we have recently had!
There are not as many flowers blooming right now as there was same time last year but a few things are showing life.
I got some Cosmo's planted on the side of the house. I hope they do well. You can't really see them over there and so I don't feel guilty when I cut them for the house! I also worked on pulling moss off of the rock pathway. It was coming off in huge sheets. There is so much to do...I wish the weather would cooperate more often!
Today I also wanted to share that Janae (my daughter) is having a giveaway on her blog. I am excited to see her start to get interested in scrapbooking. She is giving away digital scrapbook software that looks really neat. You can make calendars and all kinds of gifts items. She made pages of her pups that are adorable! I want her to do a book of her first house.
Please stop by her blog and enter her giveaway! You can enter her giveaway by going here.
It is free and only takes a minute so really there is nothing to lose!

Sandy it was beautiful here today too. Yayyyy for both of us. No rain there and no snow here.
ReplyDeleteLOove the pink tulips. I too love pink. We have a real problem growing them here. They are called Deer with a Capitol D. We have a herd that come down every late afternoon and their very favorite food in the entire world is Tulips.
All the beautiful flowers you showed are just that....beautiful. So glad spring is truly there now.

ReplyDeleteHi Sandy!
ReplyDeleteYour tulips are so pretty. I never got mine to come back the next year... (yes I always left the leaves to wither away so the bulb got fed) but I always had an abundance of daffodills!

Wednesday's Bunny Hop Party!
daffodils...
ReplyDeleteI'm so anxious to get outside and work too!!!!! I have gladiolus bulbs that need to get put in soon : / Hopefully this next week we'll have more than an afternoon of sun, eh? :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm envious of your tulips!! Another thing on my to do list!!
So that's where all our rain went..was wondering why we had record low rain this season, it's all in Oregon! We are so dry..we watered by hand today as our lawn sprinkler is not up and ready yet! We should have a mushy wet lawn but that's not the case.. With the lack of snow this season we are extra dry! Your Tulips are so pretty..I love pink..
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
