As I mentioned before, I wanted to change out my "store bought" pillows for some homemade ones for the top of my husbands trunk in the sunroom. I made the first pillow last night and am so pleased with it I have to share. I need to give credit where credit is due though! I was inspired by a blogger I recently found..I actually was more than inspired..I pretty much just copied her:). I even copied her title for this post (shameless). But hopefully it is okay with her. You can find her here. I think I will copy even more of her pillows..she is very talented and creative!
Isn't that a great pillow?! I'm sure you can see why I was excited when I found this idea. You can't get much more Shabby Chic than burlap and roses!
I always think that I have not mastered the torn fabric rosettes but then when I get them on there I am always pleased with them. They really have the shape of real roses!
Next I think I will make a pillow that looks like the valance--a pretty ruffled one.
Thanks for stopping by for a little "pillow talk" :)
Have a great day!
Sandy, I love your pillow! It's darling! What a lovely vignette! Your ruffled curtains are lovely too!

Sandy....Love love love the pillow. And isn't getting ideas all about this blog thing. I would hope people would want to use my recipes and get ideas for presentation etc. etc. My mother always said that duplication is the highest form of flattery. And I agree. Also where did you get your white headboard. I have been looking for years for one like that accept in king size. I absolutely adore it.
ReplyDeleteThanks too for commenting on my recent dessert post. I truly appreciate it. And the dessert really is incredible. Hope you can try it.
Hugs,
Nann
Very pretty, must check out that sight. My daughter is coming over on Saturday for a crafting afternoon. She bought a pattern online for those roses, and wants to make some then. Good idea on the pillow.

ReplyDeleteThat is adorable. Wish you'd drop by my house and make me a couple of them. Well, at least I tried.
ReplyDeleteWow. I love that trunk! The pillow is pretty too, but I am stuck on that trunk. I made some flowers out of felt a few weeks ago, but I've been meaning to try the torn fabric method. I think they look more realistic.
