Ornaments to Remember

I feel like my need to decorate sometimes makes me lose out on things that are memories. All the things the kids made in school have never ended up on our tree..because they didn't "go". The kids thru the years have told their teachers "my Mom won't put this on the tree"--how embarassing. The kids seem alright with it though because they know I am a perfectionist. They forgive me. So I have decided to try to start making memorable ornaments that do go.
This one I  recently made for Janae because she is so in love with her pups and I know she wants to remember their first Christmas.

I found this little frame at Goodwill--it was brown with a little fake pinecone attached. It wasn't too cute then, but it is so Janae now!
Then to my surprise in Gage's backpack was wrapped up a little ornament that he "made" with help from his assistant, and it looks so lovely on my tree and I love seeing Gage's little smiling face. I will admit, it had a red ribbon on it that I had to change to white..but otherwise..perfect!

I feel like I am not blogging hardly at all lately--and either is anyone else! I guess we can all understand why...but since I am a new blogger, does this happen every year?  I am anxious to get back to regular blogging after the holidays are over.  I am actually beginning to miss posts about chalk paint! haha
I hope everyone is having really happy holidays!

  5. How lovely, you guys out there in blogland give me so many ideas, I want to run off and create everytime I see a new one, like now. I think your decorations are lovely. ONly it is 10pm and bedtime,so I guess it has to wait until tomorrow. Or the New Year.:)

Thank you so much Sandy for visiting and leaving a nice comment. I'm sorry I confused you with my blog name change, but I thought, as I had opened an etsy shop for my heirloom Christening gowns, mostly, I needed to have the same name on my blog. Vintage wasn't a good way to describe new gowns. Heirloom is more fitting.

Merry Christmas and a very Happy Healthy, safe New Year xx jeanetteann

  7. Good idea! My kid's ornaments never "went" either. We kept them on a little tree for a long time but don't have them anymore. Don't really know where they went.
