This is such a wonderful time of year. I always say that I love every season...but there is something to be said about Spring. Almost every day brings a new gift from the garden.
I just love bringing Lilacs in the house. They smell so wonderful and look so pretty too.
I only wish I had a whole field of them!
I have been spending the last week working on sprucing things up outside so that I can enjoy my outside areas even more. I have been working on the inside a bit too.
I always find saucers at Goodwill for .99 cents and sometimes they are so pretty I cannot resist them. I finally decided what to do with them.
I put them above my kitchen sink--in a floating formation.
My husband cut some wooden blocks for me in different heights which I glued onto the back of the plates. I used the Velcro picture hanging Command strips to attach the plates to the wall. I am happy with how it looks--now I want more!
My last post it was raining so hard the yard was flooding. Tomorrow it is suppose to be 85 degrees. That is Oregon for you--never quite sure what next week brings!
I just can't get enough of the Wisteria...
Sitting on my back patio I love to listen to music and just soak in all the beautiful blooms.
Have a wonderful day!
Thanks for visiting!

Your back yard is so gorgeous this time of year! I love how you are decorating the back patio it looks great! I love your plates too, it's like your thing now to hunt for at GW, I go for the mirrors and you go for the plates. I rarely go without you but when I do I'll have to check the plates like you do the mirrors for me :)
Oh my Sandy, your garden and patio are gorgeous. Love your lilacs inside too. I can almost smell them. xx
I love lilacs too, and your patio looks so pretty Sandy !
And you can never go wrong with plates ;)
Your back patio & yard are so beautiful! I love sitting there enjoying the fragrant flowers, music, and visiting with you.
Sandy, hai dei bellissimi lillĂ !Meravigliosi come del resto tutto il tuo giardino!Trovo deliziosi i piattini!Dove li hai messo stanno benissimo!Buon maggio!rosetta
What an absolutely lovely retreat! Growing up we had 4 very large lilac bushes, and I was always the one who would go outsides and cut big bunches of them to put in vases. Love what you did with the plates. I have a soft spot for tea saucers. I've been collecting thrift store plates for a while now, hoping to build a grand "plate wall" at some point. Now you've got me thinking maybe I can hang them like yours....thanks for the inspiration!xoKathleen
This is so pretty! I cannot wait for our lilacs to start blooming. . .will be a few more weeks here in Northern Ohio. Really enjoy looking at the beautiful ones you're showing here.
Sandy,
Your backyard looks just like a picture out of a magazine. How pretty. I love lilacs too. Mine here in the midwest are just starting to bud. We had such a harsh winter I think they will take some time to arrive.
Love your plates floating very pretty.

And such pretty sights you have to take in on your back deck, Sandy! Love all the blooms you are getting right now. Love the lilacs. I am waiting for my neighbor's bush to bloom and then I'm going to ask her if I can cut some to bring in the house. I will offer her some hydrangea blooms in trade. : ) Love how you used the plates. That really adds some nice interest above your sink.
Your wisteria is fabulous! And I sure love the plate idea.
Everything is absolutely gorgeous, Sandy. LUV the wisteria.
Great idea with the plates.....I was thinking.....How did she do that? it looks great! I love lilacs too, they don't grow here in Orlando, but when I lived in Minnesota I had a whole yard full!

I would never have thought of doing the plates that way, that is so creative. Your patio and yard are just breathtaking, so beautiful. Your Wisteria is fabulous. I am growing Wisteria but we haven't gotten any flowers yet, hopefully next year. Enjoy your yard!

Your flowers are lovely Sandy! Love the wisteria too! It doesn't last long enough here, but that smell is heavenly. Love the plates, I can't resist those pretty little saucers either and ove the way you have displayed yours!
I love the way you put the saucers on the wall. They really make a statement but don't look cluttery like that. Pretty. :)
enjoy that weather--we are in the 50's. your garden is so charming! and the floating plates is so clever and looks wonderful! have a great weekend!
I love the idea of the floating plates. What a cute way to decorate with plates. Your house always looks amazing and the back yard is breath taking. I can see why you like to hang out and enjoy the sights and smells.
You and your daughters blog have really inspire me to redecorate my house. I love the fact that you get your things from Goodwill, yard sales and so on. That's my speed too lol. I have gotten many ideas just reading and looking at both of y'alls blogs.
Right now I am in love with spray paint. I like the things I have but they needed new life. It has totally changed the rooms.
Sending prayers of blessing your way.
I feel the same about lilacs... You have a wonderful garden with the wisteria it is just perfect :-) Alexandra
Hi Sandy,
Oh my the Wisteria is dreamy!! Your patio looks beautiful!!
Love the saucer grouping, it remind me of wallpaper boarders, only super fabulous!! Great idea... those saucers do call out and can't be left behind, I have a collection too....
Hugs,
Bella
Your yard and home must smell heavenly with the lilacs and wisteria blooming. I LOVE lilacs but they don't do well in North Carolina. I do have a miniature variety call Miss Kim which is sweet but not like yours. I love the way you layered the plates. Thanks for explaining how you did it, i was definitely wondering as i looked at them!
